Join Opera Europa’s Autumn Conference 2026: Amplifying Opera
Industry News
From 5 to 7 November 2026, our partner Opera Europa will bring together opera professionals in Brno, Czech Republic, for its Autumn Conference, hosted by National Theatre Brno during the internationally renowned Janáček Festival.
Under the theme “Amplifying Opera”, the conference will explore how the sector can strengthen its voice and demonstrate the value of culture, music and the performing arts in society.
The three-day programme will gather general, artistic and financial directors, as well as audiovisual and digital specialists, to exchange perspectives on the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of opera. Discussions will address cultural advocacy, financial sustainability, technological innovation and audience accessibility, alongside opportunities to develop artistic collaborations and discover emerging talent.
Among the programme highlights are sessions on responding to budget cuts, the growing importance of new technologies, the role of culture in international relations and making opera and dance more accessible online. Participants will also have opportunities to explore co-production partnerships and attend performances as part of the festival programme.
By creating space for dialogue and collaboration across the European opera community, the conference aims to strengthen the sector’s collective voice and explore new ways to champion opera’s cultural and societal value.
